New Purchases - Update to Come

We have new furniture! :]

We are so excited that at least one room in our house looks amazing!

We purchased new couches, a new table and new curtains!

Finally we have painted all the bookcases, and I must say they do look quite amazing!

Also, while at Office Depot one day, I saw a very cute bookcase, that I thought would be perfect as a tv stand! Which we hope to be buying a new tv for really soon.

The only problem we have, which is quite a problem.... is we haven't been able to sell the old furniture yet.

Soooooo.... our house looks quite CLUTTERED! We have couches on top of couches, and chairs lining our hallway. Hopefully we can get everything cleared out soon, and I can get pictures uploaded!!

Our next steps to updating our house will be to change our kitchen chandelier and our light switches/sockets.

The previous owners added a pine cone ugly thing for a chandelier, which we believe would be wonderful in a log cabin, just not our house. They also put manilla colored switches/plates/sockets all around the house, and we're trying to change them to white, which would look sleeker, and match the trim...

Slowly but surely we will get this house updated.

Slowly but surely, the weather will warm up and Chris will finally paint the kitchen cabinet doors! hehe

Videos From Our Honeymoon

I went through all our videos from the honeymoon {which were all clean thank you!} & found the first non boring one! This creature is so interesting! I can't remember exactly what he was, I think a dragon, but he was something I have never seen before, obviously a relative of the sea-horse!

(Sorry for all the annoying kids in the background. There was a summer program group there, they were LOUD and RUDE. Chris & I said if they were our kids, they would be put up for adoption)

In this video, you get to see up close and personal penguins! They had a cool tunnel you could go to, and end up standing up into these glass domes, and be in their habitat.

Here is the BIG glass wall of the tank that had some sharks. The video does not do the place justice. It was amazing, I didn't want to leave!

Proof that my husband is an idiot! :] Ohhh, but I love him!

I'll probably be taking a bit more video, now that I know I can share it! :)

Chris Getting Tased!

So Chris got tased tonight. I was pretty nervous as well. I think after looking at his face, before he got shot is what did it for me. You could see how nervous and scared he was, so I started feeling the same way.

Once it was done, he gave me a thumbs up, but I didn't catch it on tape.

He got his holes bandaged up, so he should be perfectly fine in a day or two.

Family Pictures

Last week or so, my side of the family got together to take family pictures. However, our family wasn’t complete because we didn’t take Layla & Lola.
I took the photos, for everyone, and my sister took them of Chris & I.
We put the camera on self-timer for the big group shoot.
A lot cheaper than paying someone to do it!:]

Those are the ones we ended up with!:) Here are the rest from the day:
My sister & her family!!
My brother & sister-in-law!
Momma & the grandkids!
Momma!
Everybody!
And now the bloopers!!!
Hope everyone has a good week!:)

Happy Halloween

We enjoyed Halloween in our house last night! We had our side door open, and the front door open, and the dogs loved it!:) They’d watch out the side door, and run to the front when someone walked by.
They were basketball players, and we were referees!
We had a lot of trick-or-treaters!:) We have just a handful of candy left! We had a few adults dressed up, tons of toddlers, and a man dressed up in a dress! Haha!:) We had a few teenagers, re-wear their homecoming dresses and just put red paint on and mess up their hair! It was a smart and super cheap idea!:)
For dinner, we grilled potatoes and carrots, in our little grilling basket, and made steak kabobs! They were good, but dry! But we had fun experimenting! We also drank wine we got for our shower, the bottle is about gone!:) We also made chocolate covered strawberries, bananas, and apples!:) Only strawberries and apples are left!
Hope everyone else also had a good Halloween!:)

Fixing Up The House

We’ve started making holes in our walls, and buying/taking furniture!!:)
On facebook, there is a Warrensburg Swap Shop… if your town does not have one, start one up!
Its a place for people in the area to post what they have for sale, what you are looking for, and services
and events you offer!
We found our headboard and footboard on there.
It was $100 and in new condition, as they never used it.
We currently have my TWIN comforter from when I lived in the dorms on our bed. Our bed is a QUEEN! haha.
Saving up our moneys to buy the comforter we want!:)
Chris has painted 1 of my 4 shelves/bookcases and its now in the house…
Havent decided where to put my flag or plant, so for now, they go on the bench!
He has also BUILT one of his projects.
We still need to paint it, it will look a lot better after that.
But for now, it works! [because I have no idea what color to paint it]
I just need to get some lights and storage, and my vanity will be complete!:)
We’ve also decided to just go ahead and use the shelf that was left here in the laundry room.
We want some sort of system, [or at least one that goes from wall to wall] but we’ll work on that room at another time.
Once we got this hung up, we cleared out the paint cans, trash boxes and a few tubs…
I walked in and was stunned to see how BIG the room had gotten!
We helped my sister move last weekend, and decided to take this home with us, since no one wanted it.
So we now have a tv stand in our bedroom….. that rotates! :]
You can kinda see the piece at the very bottom, its the stand still part, and the draws up can rotate.
So you can turn it anyway you want.
I couldn’t take a picture of that because Chris put it right against the wall, so no rotating!
On to the fun stuff…. all the holes in the wall we made!:)
We took these two old wood frames we got in Branson, and took left over twine from the wedding and make “picture frames”
We’ve also taken some items we already had and made ourselves a cork board, and a menu board
in our kitchen.
We also made a key holder! :) Since we have SO MANY keys!!
& We finally found a frame big enough… [too big actually] and were able to hang up our caricture [sp]!
Which I don’t believe we ever posted a picture of it, or we may have!?
Its the one that we did in Atlanta, GA at the Aquarium… while on our honeymoon!
We still have a few more pictures to get hung up.
3 more bookcases need to be painted and brought in…
Our Kitchen cabinet doors still need to be done,
and my craft table should be built here in a few weeks, so our second room/craft room/dog room
will make its debut soon!!:)

Little Miss Lola

I just noticed I never formally introduced Lola! Which as everyone on Facebook knows, we did adopt her on August 19th. She has been adapting quite well. Perhaps, a little too well!
Her and Layla are joined at the hip, and can’t be without each other! They enjoy wrestling a little too much and they always have to play with the same toy!
The dog we adopted before Lola, did not get along at all with Layla. So we were worried that would happen with this one as well. But it was complete opposite!:)
Lola was 1 of 6 puppies. She and her siblings were left in a box with a bucket of water, on the side of a back road in 100 degree weather! They all were very lucky a couple picked them up and took them home! That’s how we found her, the couple who took them home, is a sister of one of the dispatchers in Clinton! The couple was kind enough to keep her a month for us until we got our house!
She loves swimming in the lake, going to the bark park, cuddling, digging, and jumping right into your lap!:)
She also loves to bark, which is different than Layla, who we can’t get to bark!:)
