Hot Dots Jr

I found these "Hot Dots Jr" at the Teachers Supply Store here in Springfield and I love them, and better yet, Austyn loves them.

They have many different subjects but we decided to stay with colors, shapes, and numbers.

The number cards are a little too hard right now, so we haven't tested them yet.

Here are some videos of her playing with them..... occasionally we get a little click happy and stop trying.

The Midterm Slump

It's about that time for the midterm slump. I feel it sinking in very deep. I have no motivation to do homework right now and I feel like everything that could go wrong in my days, is. It's one of those months!!

Could be worse!

Happy Fall Y'all!

August

That dreaded time has come back around, school is starting!!

I'm excited, I only have two years left, so lets get going and get it over with! It will be here before we know it! Chris is starting back after 6 years. He'll be starting his gen-eds and is currently enrolled in 3 classes. I'm enrolled in 5.5 classes.

Austyn isn't going to school yet, she will enjoy her days at Connor's house!
(Connor's daddy works with Chris)

Hopefully this fall semester flies by!

Water Baby

We may or may not have a little water baby on our hands! (It's about time!)
When we went to the Bahamas, it took all week to warm up to the pool or the ocean, and still we don't like getting our hair wet in the bathtub.

Nana & Papaw got Austyn a little pool for the back deck, and she loves splashing her audience and playing in the water all night.

Cherry Pickin

We joined Nana & Papaw for an evening of cherry picking at one of their friend's house.

Austyn enjoyed helping pick the cherries off the tree!

365 Days + A Few

I apparently haven't posted on our family blog in just over a year, but with social media attached at the hip in everyone's life, I don't feel a need to post here when I post the same things to Facebook.

I've been contemplating getting away from social media and relying on text messages / phone calls, and the use of letters and blogs (the virtual letter/email). I feel some people share too much of their lives on Facebook. Some things need to be left private. I also feel that people post way too much annoying things. It is your Facebook and you can share what you wish, but it does get tiring scrolling through tons and tons of stupid / useless posts.
(If you keep scrolling you have no heart, if you don't share this in 5 seconds a demon will get you!)

I want to be able to share in my family's lives and close friends lives, that's why I stay. However, I've wondered if I were to get off social media, if friends and family would actually make that point to be involved in our lives, since it will then take more effort than simply clicking a "like" button.

Guess we'll see which direction I'm led to go in and what my heart says.

So far we have been enjoying our summer. Chris is working away while Austyn and I enjoy our days together running errands and doing odds and ends. This week we are going to start story time at the library and try to make that a weekly event. We will also try to work out on a daily basis (haha, yea right!) It will be good for Austyn to go play in the daycare while I walk or bike. I can't wait for what our summer has in store for us. We LOVE to experience new things with Austyn and can't wait to show her everything!

Little Miss Austyn

I saw this picture going around facebook and pinterest and thought it was a cute idea. I wanted to share it with friends and family, so if they wanted to join in on the fun, they could.

"When your kids are born,
reserve them an email address.
Over the years send them photos, notes, kid-isms,
stories, photocopies of the achievements etc.
On their 18th birthday
Give them the password!"
